Review – Hotel Artemis

Hotel Artemis, written and directed by Drew Pearce, offers an interesting selection of characters in an explosive situation where we’re waiting for the inevitable boom to come. I didn’t have high expectations walking into this film, but I ended up finding it to be quite entertaining. The film is of course not without faults and it isn’t a film that’s going to have critics raving, but there’s something simple and fun about Hotel Artemis. Review – Snowden

snowden

Snowden, directed by Oliver Stone, offers a comprehensive and expansive look at Edward Snowden. The film is extremely intentional in its focus, and also very detailed in its offerings. While it is perhaps a little long in the tooth, it certainly can’t be said that the film doesn’t share as much of the story as it possibly can. I foresee this film dividing audiences – because of its approach – and so getting into the film and reviewing it, is something I’m eager to do. So let’s get to it. Read more

Review – Tallulah

Tallulah

Tallulah, directed by Sian Heder, is an unflinchingly honest and heartfelt film. I was quickly pulled into the harsh reality of the lives that are present in this film; true powerhouses of characters are continuously on-screen, all of which strengthen a film that is already so strong in its presentation. Let’s make our way into the world of Tallulah, through this review, and see what it has to offer. Read more

Abrams Universe (better known as the Kelvin timeline). With a story that actually has you intrigued, characters with actual meaning, and an overall clear direction, makes for a Star Trek film worth your attention. But… not everything is as you’d perhaps want it to be. Let’s fully explore all of the parts, which make up this film. Let the review commence. Read more

Star Trek Films: From Worst to Best

With Star Trek Beyond coming out in cinemas, I thought it’d be fun to run down all of the other Star Trek films, from my least favourite to my favourite. I’ve seen all of these films quite a few times – that’s what happens when your brother is a devout Star Trek fan. I don’t think that some of these films get the love or the acclaim that they deserve, while others certainly deserve to fade into obscurity.

So I’m going start with the worst of the bunch and work my way up to the crème-de-la-crème, and I want to STRESS that this is my personal ranking and opinions, and am in no way saying this is the definitive listing of the films; just a little bit of fun, that’s all. Let’s get started: Read more
