Review – Hostiles

Hostiles, written and directed by Scott Cooper, offers a solemn, introspective look at a transitional point in American history. Not only was America changing; shifting towards a new way of life, but the people who had been moulded by the old ways, also had to change, or be left behind. Taking on damaged, seemingly irredeemable individuals, the film takes us on a journey that is meaningful and full of hardships – all in the hopes of finding a way to heal. Review – Don’t Breathe

Don’t Breathe, directed by Fede Alvarez, is an interesting one; on one hand this film surprised me with some of its twists, and it also engaged me with its simple concept. But on the other hand it left me rolling my eyes at some of the over-played plot devices and it also left me desperate for so much more from its characters. I’ll be intrigued to see how this film shapes up in my review – so let’s get on with it. Read more
