Review – Glass

Glass, written and directed by M. Night Shyamalan, might possibly be the filmmakers best work to date (with Unbreakable or Signs being its primary competition). With a meaningful focus on characters, a competency with the camera that hasn’t always been there, and a noticeable cinematic growth by Shyamalan; Glass ends up being one of the most compelling films and experience from a director who has often struggled to deliver on the vision he seems to have in his head. For the first time in a very long time, I’m excited to be talking about and reviewing an M. Night Shyamalan film, so let’s get to it.

Review – The Post

The Post, directed by Steven Spielberg, offers a compelling, well told story; filled with a brilliant cast of actors who all expertly perform their roles. I don’t mean this in a negative way: but if you’ve ever seen a Spielberg film (particularly his more recent films) then you know what you’re going to get with this one. It’s a consistent, well shot film that shows how efficient at making an enthralling piece of cinema, Spielberg is. So let’s jump into the meat of the review and break down all that, The Post has to offer.

Review – Carol

Carol, directed by Todd Haynes, is an emotionally filled film that allows you to watch almost every aspect of a new and blossoming relationship. This is a film that is filled with meaning and thought – two very different people come together and we are shown something that is small in scale and beautiful in execution.
