Ghost in the Shell, directed by Rupert Sanders, doesn’t feel like it achieves its full potential, but it still does offer enough that you are continually engaged by what it is tackling, and it never feels like it loses its way. It also helps that the film is visually stunning and there are characters that hold your interest. So while it is certainly not a film that explores everything to its fullest potential, there is still something about it that keeps you wanting to watch. Independence Day: Resurgence, directed by Roland Emmerich, is a loud, silly, chaos filled film. But you know what? Despite all the problems (of which there are a few) I still came out of the film smiling and having had fun.
